Every month Roger, a 93-year-old man with dementia, receives a special visitor at his nursing home.
Her name is Emma, and she happens to be a sex worker.
The film portrays the life of Sid Vicious (Gary Oldman), bassist of the seminal punk rock band the Sex Pistols, and his relationship with girlfriend Nancy Spungen (Chloe Webb).
The film also features supporting performances from David Hayman, Xander Berkeley, and Courtney Love.
The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 1986, and was released theatrically in the United States that fall.
Despite failing to recoup its production budget at the box office, the film was received favourably by most critics and has attained cult classic status.
Emma said she has become 'very close' to Roger over the past year, learning not only about his most intimate desires but also about his past.'We look at pictures - not sex pictures - of things he used to be interested in and we'll have a tipple of his favourite drink,' she told the Morning Bulletin.
“For whatever sick purpose — whether or not you fell under the power in a trance-like state of Kaplan — you knowingly allowed your family, your children, your daughters to move into this person’s home,” Bucks County Judge Jeffrey L. The judge told the mother: “You exchanged a certain level of comfort for the intellectual, emotional and sexual well-being of your children.
